In the Top 10 Organization Strategies, step 4 is to Work as Hard For Yourself as You Would For Someone Else
WHOA! Here is the truth. Being your own boss is fantastic. Being your own boss is awful.
It’s a double-edged sword. And, if you are not careful, it can be harmful to the success of your business.
Sometimes you need to be the boss, and tell yourself that you need to make your prospecting phone calls, or that you need to do your follow up. And at that time, you also need to be the employee and OBEY the boss.
At the end of the day, look back and say, “If I was my boss, what would I rate myself today”?
It is important to hold yourself accountable. Since we don’t have a traditional J-O-B with a boss standing over our shoulders as we accomplish what needs to be done that day, we have to take on that role ourselves, and make sure that what needs to be done gets done.
It doesn’t mean that you can’t go out to lunch with a friend when they call, but it does mean that if you were scheduled to make phone calls for 2 hours that day and skipped it to go to lunch, that you make up that time that week, so that you still get your calls done.

Laura,
This site is awesome. I am really trying to make me home based business take off in a part time capacity so it is hard to hold myself accountable after long days of being accountable to someone else, but reading your blog has given me some new inspiration on how I can make this work for my family and my future as I pursue a career as an entrepreneur. Please keep it coming!!! Jamie
Thank you so much for your kind words Jamie! Remember to work as hard for yourself as you do for someone else. Keep moving forward!
