By simplify, on March 21st, 2010% Today’s goal has a bit of a long-term effect. It’s to have a mostly homemade Christmas. Now, this idea came to mind for three reasons: 1) I love to do crafts and activities and so do my children, 2) it’s less expensive, and 3) it’s often more appreciated than something purchased at the store “just because”.
I’ve recently gone through some of my stash of craft projects (in order, of course, thanks to the banker’s boxes in the closet), and picked out several projects that I would like to make for friends and family. Combined with a few items I . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 16 – A Homemade Christmas
By simplify, on March 20th, 2010% Yesterday, I did plan out groupings of the things I usually do as part of my Modular Day. You can see my Task Worksheet that I created, and then I used the information to create index cards. Those index cards are for me to flip through daily, much like my children flip through their “chorepacks” – doing one item at a time, until they are all completed.
One thing I noticed when I was doing the Modular Day planning, was that I had gotten away from one of the most positive things that I used to do – sending a . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 15 – A Card A Day
By simplify, on March 19th, 2010% Recently, my brother wrote a post about creating a Modular Day for his 100 Goals in 100 Days Challenge. This got me thinking. Long ago, and before children, I actually did follow what he was suggesting by creating a Modular Day (although I didn’t call it that).
Today, as my goal, I’m going to revisit this concept, because having a list of things to do in certain times during your day, a routine of sorts, makes it easier to accomplish what you need to do and also speeds up the process since you already know what comes next, without thinking . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 14 – Modular Day
By simplify, on March 18th, 2010% I am a night owl by nature, but after having children, have been forced to wake up early. Now there is much to do in the morning, and the days of sleeping in are a fond memory of mine.
The problem lies in the fact that I like to work at night, and get a lot accomplished then, so it’s hard for me to shut down and go to bed. I’m always thinking about “just one more thing” that could be done. (Now, don’t get the wrong idea, I don’t work every night!)
This, of course, makes for a difficult . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 13 – Night Night
By simplify, on March 17th, 2010% WHOA!! Here’s one to bookmark and listen to every time you are feeling down or discouraged! This is a fantastic speech from Art Williams – what a great way to start the morning – makes me want to stand up and say, “AMEN!” Enjoy and have a blessed day!
To your success,

By simplify, on March 17th, 2010% Today’s goal is all about creating or revising your dream board. But first…
Several hours and three coats of paint later, I finished painting the master bedroom sliding door last night. And reinstalled the blinds so that my wonderful husband can sleep past sunup. (I, of course being a mother, can fall asleep anywhere and sleep through broad daylight, children playing, etc.) Now, I just have to clean and paint the screen door and this project will be finished. Good thing too, because although I like painting, I’m not too fond of painting doors.
Yesterday, I did do a bit . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 12 – The Dream Board
By simplify, on March 16th, 2010% Ugh…today’s goal is a hard one, but one that is ultimately for the best. Unfortunately, I love fast food. My favorites are McDonald’s and Taco Bell. We are not exactly “close” to either (remember…rural living), so often I visit when I am out running errands and doing other things in the area.
Well, life was good until this past Friday. As part of our “pizza and movie” night, we watched the movie Food, Inc. Well, let me tell you that now I know too much about where my food comes from (which is probably good and bad all at the . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 11 – Farewell Taco Bell
By simplify, on March 15th, 2010% My body is a bit sore and tired from all of the home improvement work that I did this past weekend, but I am glad to report that I did make great progress in both the downstairs ceiling and the master bedroom door. If time allows this week, I’ll be finishing those projects up throughout the week, and if not, then they will be my focus next weekend. I’m really pushing myself to be more of a “finisher” in projects (hence forcing myself to read the books already in process too), so will not start any new project until the . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 10 – Quiet Time
By simplify, on March 14th, 2010% I’ve been having a lot of fun (and getting a lot accomplished) so far with the 31 Goals in 31 Days Challenge. Here’s a recap and update of what I’ve done so far:
Day 1 – The Master To Do List – I’ve accomplished a significant amount of items that were listed here, as well as noticed “themes” of items that need to be done, such as household projects, and training videos that need to be watched.
Day 2 – The Prospect List – I’ve continued to call several people each day, and as a result, have booked several more . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 9 – Ongoing Learning
By simplify, on March 13th, 2010% Now that my filing system is all set up and revamped for the latest business papers that have come my way, and all the papers have been filed in their respective places, I know that I can find anything at a moment’s notice.
Throughout the week, I have been crossing off things on my Master To Do List every day as they are accomplished, and the one thing that really stood out to me all week was that there is a large number of things on my Master To Do List that are household related projects.
So, today’s goal is . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 8 – Weekend Projects
