This week for Minimalist Monday Mission: Declutter 365 I was working in the office on my craft table.
Do you have a table like my craft table? I call it the craft table because I have my sewing machine set up there, and have used it within the past year for much of my painting and quilting when I was working toward my homemade Christmas gifts.
But, after the work came to a stop, the table started gathering things. And more things. And more things.
Then, it looked like this:
YIKES! Do you see the sewing machine in that stuff? Evidence that yes, there really is a craft table underneath.
I wanted to take a break this week from my main office desk area – I really just have the remaining desk top, and then filing cabinet left. So, I moved just a few feet over and found my craft table calling my name this week.
One of the projects on my “to do” list is to work on a quilt for our king size bed for the summer months. We have no air conditioning and it gets a bit warm in the summer. I still like to have some sort of blanket over me, but our down comfortable is just a tad bit too warm. Solution? A quilt.
I’ve had the materials for this quilt for a long time, and summer is approaching quickly, so I wanted to make decluttering the craft table a priority. Then, I can actually use the sewing machine that is buried in there.
Here’s what it looked like after:
When that was over, I did end up with two boxes full of things to go through still that are now down in my basement ready for me to declare their fate…donate or sell! I tossed as much as I could see that needed to be tossed right away, but there was so much that could be donated or sold, that I just piled it all up and put it down in my area dedicated for my Becoming Minimalist Sale items. There are several things I need to go through down there and either list for sale, or put into the donate bag. I’ll be doing that tomorrow, with a trip to the local Goodwill on my list of destinations for this week. So, look for an updated list of things on the Becoming Minimalist Sale tomorrow, and a BIG list of donated items next week too!
