I became a fan of Tsh Oxenreider of Simple Mom when I read her first book Organized Simplicity. And she has done it again with One Bite at a Time – 52 Projects for Making Life Simpler.
I am all about simplifying and I love to read other’s work on the subject. In fact, I devoured Tsh’s book in just one sitting!
Although these projects are designed to be spread out over time, I have several that really resonated with me that I will be working on in the next few months:
- Establish a morning routine (although I have one, it needs to be tweaked)
- Establish an evening routine (although I have one, it needs to be tweaked)
- Menu planning (I need to be more consistent in this)
- Eat whole foods (goes with menu planning!)
- Get more sleep (need to stick with a consistent bedtime, which an evening routine should help with too)
- Wake up earlier and use kaizen (this would be the goal that goes with “get more sleep” above)
- Switch to non-toxic cleaners (I love that Tsh is not the “throw it all out right now” kind of gal…instead she encourages to switch when you run out of what you are using right now…I found some great recipes on Pinterest for when I run out, and Tsh has a few in the book too)
- Drink more water (this has been on my list for so long…perhaps I should try kaizen on this one too)
- Switch to gentle, eco-friendly hair care (again, when I run out of what I am currently using, but I’m all for cheap, easy and good for you! Recipes are in the book for this one too!)
Happy reading!
