By simplify, on September 14th, 2010% Remember last month when I said that I would join the Booking It challenge from LifeAsMom.com? Well, here is the update for this past month. It’s been about 3 weeks since the first Booking It post, so here’s a recap:
This month I finished up Omnivore’s Dilemma (review coming soon!) and read some more of Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting. But, my primary focus in reading this past month is reading the Bible in 90 Days.
These are the books I am reading currently:

By simplify, on September 13th, 2010% As you may know, I am reading through the Bible in 90 Days. This has been quite an experience and I am so thankful for everything that God has been showing me through this journey.
I am still far behind. We are supposed to be on page 852 by the end of the day and I am on page 450. That’s 400 pages behind. We are on day 71, which means there is 19 days left. There are 1048 pages in my Bible and I have 598 left. That’s about 32 pages a day for the next 19 days.

By simplify, on September 6th, 2010% At the beginning of July, I joined Mom’s Toolbox in Reading the Bible in 90 Days.
I was on track for a little while. Then two out-of-town trips happened. And summer with children’s activities happened.
And I got behind. WAY behind.
But, the commitment to finish on time is still there. We have less than one month to go, and I have 721 pages left. As of this morning, I am on page 327. According to Amy, I should be on page 768 today. That’s quite a bit behind.
So, instead of reading 12 pages a day, because we have . . . → Read More: Bible in 90 Days Update
By simplify, on August 21st, 2010% As I have been reading through the Bible in 90 Days, there have been some eye-opening moments for sure! And, my heart has been burdened for several things. So, I’ve decided to do a 3 day fast. I’ve fasted before (a great book is Fasting by Jentezen Franklin) and I fast only for spiritual reasons.
Fasting, for me, is a time of denying one’s self, and coming before the Lord, laying all of your troubles at His feet. Every time my stomach growls, I pray. Every time I think of food, I pray. Every time I prepare food for my . . . → Read More: Fasting and CLEAN
By simplify, on August 18th, 2010% As I was reading at LifeAsMom.com the other day, I came across an older post from earlier this year with a book reading challenge. Ahhh…this is right up my alley. So what if I am already 8 months into the year, right?
So, I got to thinking. I have definitely read several books this year, and remember most of them, so I thought I would try to recap what I’ve read so far in 2010, and what I’ve got on tap. Then, I’ll be all caught up with the Booking It challenge.

I was reading over at Organizing Junkie today and came across a wonderful blog post that reminded me to remember my priorities.
And, I also was visiting Mom’s Toolbox for another great post about honoring commitments, especially those we have made before God.
Off to read my Bible. Thank you Lord for the reminders today to keep my priorities straight: God, Family, Work.
Amen.
To your success,
Dr. Laura

By simplify, on July 5th, 2010% Okay, a confession here. I haven’t read the Bible through for a very, very long time. I’ve actually wanted to, but have let life get in the way. Well, as I was browsing on the LifeAsMom.com web site this morning, I noticed a post with a challenge to read the Bible in 90 days. Ah ha! My chance for redemption.
Well, I’ve ordered the Bible for the challenge, and because the reading starts today, I’ve downloaded the schedule and will start with my own Bible.
I am so excited about doing this! It’s just what I need right now, and . . . → Read More: Read The Bible in 90 Days!
