What’s Happening to Minimalist Monday Mission?

Well, I have moved and we are settled in the new home (did I mention how easy it was to unpack?)…mostly.

So what will happen to Minimalist Monday Mission now?

I have to step back and tell you a little bit about the journey so far.

First, in October 2010, I started with the 75 in 75 Challenge. This got the ball rolling, with an initial goal of eliminating 1 item each day for 75 days that turned into 1,150 items eliminated. I was hooked. I could see progress being made (finally) and noticed a loss of . . . → Read More: What’s Happening to Minimalist Monday Mission?

Book Review – Sisters of the Quilt

You might say I’m on a Cindy Woodsmall kick…and you would be right!

I love reading series of Amish fiction stories, but really love when they all come together in one volume. This is the case with Sisters of the Quilt trilogy.

Sisters of the Quilt is the complete trilogy in one volume, and includes: When the Heart Cries, When the Morning Comes, and When the Soul Mends.

As is the case with all of Cindy’s books that I have read so far, the Sisters of the Quilt series captures you from the very beginning and holds you until the . . . → Read More: Book Review – Sisters of the Quilt

GIVEAWAY! One Bite at a Time by Tsh Oxenreider

**Congratulations to #5 @Anna White – our winner!**

I became a fan of Tsh Oxenreider of Simple Mom when I read her first book Organized Simplicity. And she has done it again with One Bite at a Time – 52 Projects for Making Life Simpler.

I am all about simplifying and I love to read other’s work on the subject. In fact, I devoured Tsh’s book in just one sitting!

Although these projects are designed to be spread out over time, I have several that really resonated with me that I will be working on in the next . . . → Read More: GIVEAWAY! One Bite at a Time by Tsh Oxenreider

Minimalist Monday Mission: Declutter 365 – Storage Closets and Moving

I finished the storage closets!! Yeah!!

I know you probably were wondering where I had disappeared to for the past few weeks. I went into the black void called…

Packing and Moving!!

Yes, although I actually DID finish the storage closets weeks ago, I haven’t been able to post them here because I have been packing…and packing…and packing.

But, with the moving day nearing, I still have more packing to do. And, I must say, I am SO grateful that I have eliminated 7500+ things from my home in the past 15 months! I can’t even imagine . . . → Read More: Minimalist Monday Mission: Declutter 365 – Storage Closets and Moving

Minimalist Monday Mission: Declutter 365 – Shredding and Digitizing

Because of the holiday this week, I didn’t get to finish the storage closets (although I am almost there), partly because there were things “hiding” in there…if you know what I mean…but I did get to do a bunch of shredding and narrowed down my digitizing pile!

Perhaps you have noticed that “digitizing files” was really high on my list (below), yet it was not done yet. There was actually several good reasons why this turned out to be for the best.

Originally, I was just continuing to add to the pile of things to be scanned, . . . → Read More: Minimalist Monday Mission: Declutter 365 – Shredding and Digitizing

Minimalist Monday Mission: Declutter 365 – Storage Closets – Part 1

This past week, I finally moved on to another new area, having covered most of the areas I have done before. So, I decided to start on the storage closets!

I have two storage closets – a large one and a small one, and both are chock full of things that I would love to sell, so they made an ideal next step in my decluttering process.

Originally, my plan was to do the large storage closet, the small storage closet shelves, and the small storage closet banker’s boxes in three separate weeks. But, when I got . . . → Read More: Minimalist Monday Mission: Declutter 365 – Storage Closets – Part 1

Book Review – The Harvest of Grace

I was recently introduced to Amish fiction author Cindy Woodsmall when I read her book The Christmas Singing.

I love Amish fiction and Cindy is a phenomenal writer. The latest trilogy of books for the Ada’s House series are fun, upbeat, and full of wonderful characters.

Since I like to read things in order, and I had read some previous reviews of The Harvest of Grace, which is book 3 in the series, saying that it was better to read them in order, I did just that.

First comes The Hope of Refuge, followed by The Bridge of Peace and . . . → Read More: Book Review – The Harvest of Grace
